In our last performance we were very good. I believe that we did good with switching between dynamics and also with changing pitches. We did not good with how loud we were though.we were singing at metso forte when we were supposed to be singing in forte. While we were singing in the wrong dynamic, when the song called for a change in the dynamic we did a good job with doing the change. We were also good with blending. I was told by my parents that we sounded like one big voice and that they were very happy with our development. We also could have done a little better with our diction. It was not that clean.
We were louder this concert than we were last concert. Considering that we were split up into the two different parts in the choir we were very loud. We also had good blend, our last concert we did not good blend. Our diction was better in this concert, especially the Alto and Soprano's diction.
Yes we did achieve an artistic performance. We had good enthusiasm and good diction. We pronounced our words well and we sounded very together. We can work a little more with our facial expression and our dynamics. We needed to be louder with the boys. An artistic performance to me is a performance that can move the crowd, one that they like so much that it gets stuck in their head

Please Excuse how horrible it is. I came home late from a wrestling practice and was very tired.
My vowel pronunciation was not too bad, it could have been better with taller vowels. I feel like they were wide. My pitch was not too bad, I kind of started out on the right pitch but afterwards without the piano I had lost it and messed up. My rhythm was also a little off, I missed some entrances and held some notes too long. I also messed up with a few words because even though I had the piece in my hand I was not really paying much attention to the words, but more when I needed to move up and down. I feel like I did not have much of a change in dynamics at all. If the whole choir were performing the way I performed during this recording we would be a total failure. The whole piece would ruined and we would in a way show that we don't care not only about your class but also for God. Especially since the piece is in a literal sense giving glory to God.

I took a couple of tries, about 3 and I found this to be the best one. The other ones I sounded very congested and I kept on trying to push the sound out through my nose. I then realized what I was doing and fixed it, but on the high notes I couldn't stop it from going through my nose. I used good posture and good breath. I also believe that I used good diction, but I don't think I started on the right note. It sounded a little high to me, but I am not sure. For the next concert I want to work on being a little bit louder, I feel as if i need to lead the section more than I am right now and I feel like I have been slacking off a little and I promise I will be better in class and set a better example for the rest of the section and not just the tenors I want to set a good example for the male section as a whole.

Tenth grade first concert
Our first concert of the year was pretty good considering that more than half of the people in choir have never sang before. Our biggest weakness was blend I think. Our strength is that we actually sang in the fight key and right pitches

This is the same because it is still just a choir
This is different because they are not all together and it is put together seperately
Our choir is made up of people in a room all together. They are more mature and also sound better.
our performance was not as mature as theirs and our also was not as pleasing
we should practice more, and we need to get older in our musical performance
Their performance was very good and was very mature

First Post
I am Donovan Kasshamoun and this is my second year in bel canto. I believe that I can excel in this choir this year, and I am going to try my best to be the best I can be. I have a deeper voice than last year and I see myself as being leader for the freshman and some of the other sophomores. I hope to be a big part of the choir. I am looking forward to being here.

Seasons Of Love Critique
I think that i was pretty flat. I sounded a little congested in the video, but I believe that it is just because of the microphone not being the greatest microphone around. I believe I have improved a lot since the beginning of the year, in the beginning of the year I would be very shy and think that I sucked and would not allow myself to go up infant of the class and sing alone, but I feel now that I have gotten better that I would still probably mess up but I will be more confident that I will sound decent.

Post Festival Reflection
How did my impression compare to judges? I honestly thought that we did very bad, the judges were very lenient because we were not the best with our tone/breathing and our diction. Our breathes were high, and we slurred our words a lot. We did very well with our rhythm, that was our strong point in my eyes, we stayed with our notes, and held the right rests and note lengths.
Compared to our pre festival concert, we had many improvements. We improved on The Tide Rises the Tide Falls in aspects such as not letting the notes go too deep, and having better rhythm. We also did not miss entrances on this song either, when we did in the pre festival concert. Our performance of Tambourica was a lot more upbeat and happily sang for our festival performance. We almohad a little better of diction, but it was still very poor in our diction, and can be improved a lot.
Some of our strengths were that we were together, the guys all sang well together and the girls all sang well together. We did not do that well of a job on blending things like our vowels well though. We also did very bad on our diction and breathing. We did not have everyone singing with a hundred percent effort the whole time, yet we the people who were putting in the effort did a good job.
I believe I myself with a couple of people around me such as Joe and Yusuf are very important to the choir. We are the main part of the male section, there are not many other people who put in their best effort, and quite frankly make the choir worse. i sing out a lot, and for the most part I am usually singing the correct pitch in the correct octave, but everyone messes up every once in a while.

Post Concert Reflection
Bel canto was artistic in their performance because we used techniques such as gracciendo, and two part harmony. We did this in April is In My Mistress' face and Carol the Bells. As an individual i can continue working on hitting the right notes and doing it in the right octave.
